As an undergraduate at Kansas State University, he worked in a West Nile Virus lab performing specimen collection and analysis, and became solo operator of the statewide WNV hotline. During clinical rotations in his fourth year of veterinary school, Dr. Friedericks developed an interest in both internal medicine and emergency medicine and critical care.

In 2007, Dr. Friedericks moved from Manhattan, Kansas to Wisconsin to join the team at FVARC and GBAEC and to be closer to family in the Madison area. He enjoys working at a cutting-edge referral center that focuses on the most up-to-date medicine and can provide the highest standards of care.

Outside of work, Dr. Friedericks’ interests are broad and include sports, particularly golf, cycling, frisbee golf, and ultimate frisbee. He enjoys cooking whenever possible, and is a novice handyman. Dr. Fridericks shares a home with wife Amanda (a CVT who he met at work), two pit bull-mixes, a teacup Yorkie, and two cats.
