Lisa Flood - DVM, MS

Education:
Bachelor of science degree in animal science from the University of Illinois-Urbana, master of science in physiology and cell biology from the University of Kansas-Lawrence, DVM from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine.

Internship:
Emergency and critical care, Chesapeake, Va.

Dr. Flood joined the staff of the Fox Valley Animal Referral Center and Green Bay Animal Emergency Center in 2003. Prior to arriving at the Referral Center, this Illinois native practiced in Omaha, Neb., as an emergency clinician in an animal emergency clinic. Concurrently, she completed a research project on the molecular genetics of breast cancer at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Dr. Flood brings emergency medical skills as well as extensive knowledge and research experience in physiology to our hospitals. Her thesis in cardiopulmonary physiology led to a graduate fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she pursued further research in respiratory physiology and the neurobiology of the control of breathing and airway smooth muscle. Dr. Flood is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Asssociation, and the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society.

Away from practice, she enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, paddling, hiking, biking, bird watching and gardening. She also likes spending time with her Labrador, Kesey, and two cats, LC and Clyde.
