After referring emergencies to the referral center in Appleton for several years, the primary care veterinarians of Green Bay and nearby communities requested that an emergency center be established in Green Bay. They recognized that the immediate availability of a fully equipped and fully staffed emergency facility would be the best option for their clients and patients when emergency care or critical care would be needed. As a result, the Green Bay Animal Emergency Center opened in 1999.
